Ford Transit Connect Wagon Goes Official

Ford has introduced a new member of the Transit family called the 2014 Transit Connect Wagon. This isn’t like a wagon you would’ve seen in the 70s, this is more like a minivan. Ford promises different versions of the vehicle seating five or seven passengers and having plenty of space for cargo. The vehicle will be offered in XL, XLT, and Titanium series.

All models will feature fold flat seating and two engine options. The standard engine option will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an optional 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine. The EcoBoost engine is expected to achieve over 30 mpg on the highway.

The Transit Connect Wagon will also be able to tow 2000 pounds when properly equipped. Either engine option available on the Wagon will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the vehicle is unknown at this time. The Transit Connect Wagon should be on dealer lots by Q4 2013.
