Rumors are swirling in the car world that the Nissan GT-R will be around until as late as 2017. The river also says that Nissan recently gave the green light to a project to develop the next generation GT-R. The most significant changes in the redesign are expected to come in the style on the outside and the engine.
Motortrend reports that it expects the basic dimensions of the vehicle to remained the same with a greater focus put on downforce and high-speed stability. The cars also tipped to possibly get a hybrid powertrain.
There are number of sports cars market today that use a hybrid powertrain to help increase power when needed and save fuel when cruising. The hybrid engine would produce an estimated 600 hp, assuming it ends up being the system is fitted into the Infiniti Essence concept car.
