Ford Atlas Concept Breaks Cover and Looks Good Doing It

Future F150 is what this is

Ford unveiled a new concepts truck this week called the Atlas Concept. You can bet that a lot of the styling cues and features in this concept will be seen in a future F150. The truck looks like something that can go into production today with no outlandish parts or designs.

The concept uses a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine and has a number of features to help improve aerodynamics making fuel economy even better. The vehicle has active grill shutters that open when extra cooling is needed and stay closed to improve aerodynamics when not needed. The concept also has active wheel shutters that close at speed to improve aerodynamics even further.

The truck concept also has a drop-down front air dam to improve underbody airflow and power running boards to tuck away all in an effort to get the most fuel economy possible. Other features of the concept include a dual purpose tailgate step and cargo cradle, 360° point of view cameras, LED headlamps and tail lamps, LED cargo box lighting, and hidden cargo ramps. I'm not a truck guy, but I would definitely drive this truck.
