Ford Unveils Cool New Fiesta ST Racecar for Global RallyCross Championship

New racecar for GRC is based on the production Fiesta ST

Ford has officially unveiled its new racing car designed specifically to dominate the 2013 Global RallyCross Championship. The racecar is based on the 2013 Fiesta ST that will go on sale in the United States this summer. Ford is mum on the specifications for the car as far as power output and performance.

The racecar is built by OlsbergsMSE and will be on display this week at the Chicago Auto Show. The first of the racecars will be driven by Tanner Faust and Brian Deegan in the GRC season kicking off this year. Later in the year, another Ford sponsored driver will step behind the will of a similar racecar.

That driver is Hoonigan Ken Block and we will undoubtedly see Block blasting through the streets of some city in his next YouTube video behind the wheel of this new car. Block will also compete in the GRC and other events using the vehicle.
