Is the Holden Commodore SS V the next Chevrolet SS

Official Chevrolet SS reveals set for this weekend

While the sports car and musclecar fan in me yearns for a two door coupe with lots of horsepower and good handling, the practical side of me knows that as an adult with kids I really need four doors. There are several sports cars out there that have four-doors, but more is always better.

Chevrolet is set to unveil its new SS this weekend and we know will be a rear-wheel drive sports sedan. Considering Chevrolet and the Australian company Holden are siblings and Holden just unveiled the Commodore SS V, odds are this slick orange Australian muscle car will be the Chevrolet SS.

Details are scant on the Chevrolet SS and the Holden SS V at this point. Other than these photographs we don't really know anything about vehicle. What size engine the vehicle we use remains unknown but with the unveiling of the Chevrolet SS set for this weekend hopefully all of those details will be forthcoming. This appears to be a big car, it would be nice if it came with a V-8 engine. I can certainly see Chevrolet shoehorning the V8 out of the Camaro under the hood.
