10 Most Anticipated Automotive Debuts Set for Geneva

I am really looking forward to the Ferrari unveil

We've been talking a lot about the Geneva Motor Show over the last few weeks and there are a number of new vehicles that will be debuting there. National Post is running down what it believes to be the 10 most intensely debuts at the show. In the last spot already new vehicles debut from Volvo including the new S80, V80, and other new models.

The Chinese Qoros automotive debut is anticipated and ranks number nine on the list. One of the most anticipated debuts that I'm looking forward to is the Toyota FT-86 convertible ranked number eight on the list. The 2014 Stingray convertible will also be on hand in Geneva as will some new cars from Spyker. Those cars are number seven and number six in the most anticipated list.

Rounding out the top five is the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C at number five, the Rolls-Royce Wraith at number four, the Lamborghini GT concept number three, and the 2014 BMW 3M in the second spot. The top anticipated debut for the show will be the Ferrari Enzo successor carrying the internal codename F1 50.

Sergio Marchionne Promises Not to Screw Up Ferrari, Plans to Increase Production

Oct 14 2014 1:29pm CDT | Source: Car and Driver

Whew, what a relief: Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has told CNBC that Ferrari, which is now under his direct control, “is in good hands with FCA,” adding, “As long as we don’t screw up the DNA of Ferrari.” The worry among Ferraristi is that Sergio, coming from the world of mass production, would try and go all Lamborghini on the prancing horse and expand production to meet ever-growing demand. Ferrari has never operated as a normal ...

The Maserati GranTurismo is a grand-touring coupe with room for four, and a host of luxurious touches. Sold as either a soft-top convertible or as a hardtop coupe, the GranTurismo gets its power from a V-8 derived from Ferrari offerings--but touches like its custom-fitted luggage are all its own. Mercedes AMG Petronas Secures First-Ever Formula One Constructors' Championship

Oct 14 2014 12:00pm CDT | Source: Top Speed

The 2014 Formula One season has been dominated by one name: Mercedes. The Mercedes AMG Petronas team just secured the first World Championship in its history with a 1-2 finish over the weekend at the Russian Grand Prix, on the brand new Sochi Circuit.Mercedes’ domination has been so great, that there are still three more races this year, including a double-points final, and there is still no way the second-place Red Bull team can win. What’s more, Mercedes has more points than ...

Liberty Walk’s Bad-Ass Lamborghini Aventador Can Breath Fire, Burninate the Countryside

Oct 14 2014 10:18am CDT | Source: Car and Driver

At any moment, I expected to watch this Lamborghini Aventador transform into a giant robot holding a four-barreled flame cannon, fighting to save earth from waves of alien mutant Impalas spitting acidic antifreeze. And then I realized that my Voltron- and Robotech-heavy childhood was just playing tricks on my sleep-deprived brain. This is no mech, but it is perhaps the best-looking (and sounding) modified Aventador I’ve ever seen. And you can thank the very ...

How Charity Car Auctions Work

Oct 14 2014 8:00am CDT | Source: Top Speed

Car auctions have become increasingly popular since the early 1970s, when classic Mercedes-Benz and Bugatti vehicles began fetching in excess of $500,000. Automobile auctioning reached a whole new level in the 2000s, with more and more vehicles — mostly Ferraris — changing owners for millions of dollars. This is when a new trend started to become popular with manufacturers; donating first production units of highly anticipated and limited-edition vehicles to charity. The ...
