Chevrolet Unveils Texas Edition Silverado (in Texas Naturally)

Same package will be offered in other states minus the Texas Edition emblem

Trucks are very popular in many parts of the country, but no state favors trucks more than Texas. This fact is undeniable when you consider that many of the new pickup trucks unveiled that go on sale all around the country are first seen in Texas. Such is the case with a new special edition Silverado that Chevrolet has unveiled.

The new special edition Silverado is called the Texas Edition and it was unveiled this week in San Antonio. The Texas Edition features custom badges and 20-inch wheels as well as a trailering package. The special edition truck is powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine producing 355 hp and capable of getting up to 23 mpg on highway.

Texas is a huge and very important market for all automotive manufacturers who produce full-size trucks. Chevrolet says that one out of every six full-size pickups sold in the country are sold in Texas. The Texas Edition gets all of the other improvements, of the 2014 Silverado 1500 models including a new wider, refined interior and exterior, and more. The same package will be offered in other states, but will be called the Custom Sport package and won't feature the Texas Edition badges.
