Porsche Revises Specs for 918 Spyder Supercar Adding More Power

The Porsche 918 Spyder is definitely one of the coolest cars ever come out of the Porsche factory. Not only is the car incredibly fast, but it also uses hybrid technology and can drive on electricity alone. Porsche recently called in a group of journalists and allow them to drive the vehicle and offered up revised specifications for the car ahead of its official launch.

The revised specifications show a significant increase from the originally quoted 795 total horsepower to 887 total horsepower. Undoubtedly, the increase in power comes from more competition with new super cars from Ferrari and McLaren. Porsche’s 887 hp figure combined with the electric and gasoline motors is still shy of what McLaren and Ferrari offer in their supercars.

However, the Porsche does have an all wheel drive system and a gigantic 940 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers are good for a 0-62 mph time of only 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 213 mph. Hybrid sports cars are incredibly impressive, all that torque makes the Porsche very fast despite its 3600 pound weight.
