Honda Project Drive in Helps Save Drive-In Theaters around America

In decades past drive-in theaters were pretty common across the United States. Today it's relatively uncommon to have a drive-in theater nearby. Honda is helping to save some of the drive-in theaters around the country with something it calls Project drive-in.

The goal the project is to replace ancient film projectors with new digital projectors. The reason projectors need to be replaced is that 35mm film distribution ends this year.

That would mean that the drive-in theater with no longer be able to get movies to play without converting the expensive digital projectors. Honda is giving five 99 W drive-in theaters digital projectors to help with the conversion. The theater chains chosen with over 2 million votes on Honda's Project drive-in website.
