Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept Puts 240hp Under the Hood

Nissan hasn't said the car will enter production yet, but we are hoping

Nissan has been unveiling some cool new cars that will fit into its Nismo line this week at the LA Auto show. Among the cars is a very nice looking Sentra Nismo concept car. The concept has a 240 hp 1.8L direct injection turbo engine. That engine produces 240 lb-ft of torque.

"Fans have asked that we bring back a high-performance Sentra straight from the factory, just like in generations past," said Nissan Vice President of Product Planning, Pierre Loing. "With NISMO, our in-house motorsports arm already producing versions of the 370Z NISMO, JUKE NISMO, JUKE NISMO RS and upcoming GT-R NISMO, we wanted to demonstrate where we could go in the future."

Nissan hasn’t said that the Nismo Sentra is going to come to production. Considering that the Nissan line will have a pair of Nismo Jukes, it would make sense for the Nismo Sentra to be offered. Here's hoping that Nissan puts this attractive four-door sedan into production.

Jul 24 2014 2:24pm CDT | Source: Car and Driver

Iowa Corn Indy 300 - Day 1
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne likes attention, specifically when showing up for the first day of training camp: He has previously arrived in a dump truck, via military convoy, and, last year, in a helicopter. This year, he showed up to camp at Anderson University (located about an hour northeast of Indianapolis) in a two-seat IndyCar piloted by race driver Ed Carpenter. He was also wearing a particularly sweet custom Colts full-face helmet.Okay, conside ...

Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find t ...

Japan to get amped up Versa Note Nismo

Jul 24 2014 10:25am CDT | Source: Driving Canada

GREECE-FINANCE-ECONOMY-DEBT
Nissan has been giving the Nismo treatment to a lot of vehicles lately and we were recently impressed with the oddball Juke Nismo RS. Well according to Nissan, the Versa Note is about to get the Nismo treatment by fall of 2014 but only for the Japanese market right now. Nissan will offer the “standard” Note Nismo and the sportier Note Nismo S. Both come with lower air dams and edgier body panels lined with red trim as well as optiona ...

2015 Toyota Yaris Debuts: New Nose, New Dash, Still a Car

Jul 24 2014 9:20am CDT | Source: Car and Driver

SUV's, Crossover Vehicles Surpass Sedan Sales For First Time
When Toyota last redesigned its Yaris subcompact, the company launched the remarkably frank “It’s a CAR!” marketing campaign. We weren’t impressed with the campaign, but the sportified SE model did finish third out of six in a subsequent cheap-car comparison test—pretty good for being “just a car.” For 2015, Toyota has restyled the Yaris inside and out, and the company has provided a look at the car prior to its August on-sale date. BMW targets empty nesters with higher-riding compact cars

Jul 24 2014 7:32am CDT | Source: Driving Canada

Juergen Bergmann likes to spend time in the forests near his home in Hamburg. What the active 72-year-old with tousled graying hair doesn’t like is squeezing himself into low-slung cars to drive there. “Getting in and out of my wife’s BMW convertible is a struggle,” said Bergmann, who used to own a construction company and gave up driving BMW sedans about 10 years ago for a high-riding sport-utility vehicle. With global ranks of older customers lik ...
