Ram has announced that the 2014 1500 EcoDiesel will get the sort of fuel economy on the highway typically reserved only for cars. The 2014 1500 EcoDiesel is rated for 28mpg on the highway. Power for the truck comes from the segments only V6 turbo diesel engine displacing 3.0L.
Despite the impressive fuel economy, the 1500 EcoDiesel should also have the power to tow just about anything with 420 lb-ft of torque. The truck has an EPA rating of 23mpg combined on city and highway driving.
“The new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is truly in a class of it’s own with 28 MPG and the ability to tow 9200 pounds,” says Reid Bigland, President and CEO Ram Truck Brand. “To put the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel in context, it gets 6 mpg better fuel economy than the best F150 Eco-Boost. Overall, the Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel has outstanding pick-up truck capability with compact-car-like fuel economy.”
