NASCAR Daytona Coke Zero 400 Race Won by Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The Coke Zero Daytona Special got held on the night of Sunday and extended into the wee morning hours of Monday. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the man of the moment as he whizzed past the finishing line on his racer. He is definitely good at what he does.

This victory is similar to the one he accomplished about two months ago. He sure knew how to manipulate his racing car to remain on top of the game as the others struggled to keep up with him. He is the winner of ten such races and four of these bagged him Daytona trophies.

Towards the end of the race, Austin Dillon’s car went careening and the crash was a horrific scene. Dillon was given first aid. He incurred a few injuries but was otherwise none the worse for wear, according to USAToday.

The car had crashed into a fence and some of the fans were injured as a result. While many of then denied anything was wrong with them, one had to be taken to the hospital. Kasey Kahne’s car meanwhile also hit Matt Kenseth’s racer.

The end result was a large scale pile-up of cars. Several of the cars that crashed had their drivers call it a day and head over to the tuck shop for a club sandwich or two.

This was an extravaganza that was started by NASCAR and it excited the passions of the fans to no end. A few race car drivers started way too early instead of on the green light and it cost them in the long run.

Edwards’ car spun midway but the driver corrected the mistake in the nick of time. Dillon’s big crash was the only negative highlight of the whole series. Otherwise things went smooth as silk.

While Dale Earnhardt Jr. easily won the race perhaps thanks to Dillon’s crash, Dillon was later on sorry to say that he felt rather out of his wits. He has suffered a broken tailbone and also had a laceration on his forearm.

Since some of the debris from his vehicle went astray and into the grounds and stands where the fans were looking on in anticipation there was chaos. Whether Dale won by default or not is a question that will remain the mystery of history. Yet now that he is the winner willy-nilly, it does not matter at all.
