NAIAS 2016: Wind River and Ricardo to Showcase Autonomous Driving Solutions

Wind River is a global leader in delivering software for the Internet of Things (IoT). Wind River is teaming with Ricardo to deliver solutions for autonomous driving. The automotive solutions by Wind River will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show.

Wind River will also be holding a press conference unveiling its latest innovations at NAIAS 2016.

Marques McCammon is the general manager of connected vehicles at Wind River. According to McCammon, the rise of autonomous driving will continue to create new complexities.

The complexities will demand more advanced software and physical vehicle systems. Even intelligent connectivity within and outside of the car will be required.

The combined expertise between Wind River and Ricardo can deliver all that. All of it will be delivered in trusted, safe, and secure technologies. The tech will steer customers on the right path.

“In order for autonomous driving to become a reality, there will be ongoing challenges around integration of technologies and this is a core competency of Ricardo, especially in the areas of algorithm development, sensor fusion and hardware integration. In order to meet these new needs, the automotive industry is racing to find the expertise missing from their existing portfolios,” said Lee Barnes, Director of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles at Ricardo.

“Together with Wind River, we are able to give customers a unique one-stop solution and jump start in tackling the complexities that come with autonomous driving.”

Both corporations will work to successfully prepare for the future of autonomous driving. Wind River will develop advanced automotive software systems along with architectural and engineering support. On the other hand Ricardo will give expert integration with the physical vehicle systems.

The North American International Auto Show is in its 28th year. The NAIAS is among the most prestigious auto shows in the world. The NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) is hosted at the MGM Grand Detroit.
