Unique Fabricating, Inc. and LINE-X announced today they will be partnering together. A part of their collaboration they will display a new Super Sport Utility Vehicle (SSUV) concept.
Both will address the important issue of weight and cost savings in the automotive industry. Their partnership will advance innovative products in the industry. The partnership has the goal of reducing weight and showcasing new advanced technologies.
The concept car project will be named SSUV (Super Sport Utility Vehicle). The concept car SSUV represents a non-exclusive partnership formed between Unique Fabricating, Inc. and LINE-X.
Super Sport Utility Vehicle Concept project SSUV will feature cost, weight, and part complexity savings. The concept car project will make its debut this year at NAIAS.
“Unique Fabricating’s TwinShape foam air duct technology reduces part weight by an average of 80% and offers improved thermal properties compared to conventional blow molded HDPE,” said Brad Hazen, V.P. of Business Development, Unique Fabricating.
Dennis Weese is the President of LINE-X. According to Weese, LINE-X is always looking for new ways to disrupt the industry. The company is also always trying to be at the forefront of innovation.
The presence of LINE-X at NAIAS 2016 with Unique Fabricating showcases incredible advances. The advances are in the way automotive parts perform through the SSUV concept. The SSUV Concept will feature an innovative coating called the LINE-X XS-670. The coating is an in-mold, color stable coating that affords both cost and weight savings.
The NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) is hosted at the MGM Grand Detroit. 2016 will be the ninth year of the ultra-luxury automotive event. The NAIAS constitutes the release of more than 50 new cars. NAIAS will last from the 16th to the 24th of January, 2016.
