GMC is looking to retain its position in market by getting on board with new ideas. The latest idea that is in consideration by the company is to introduce a new SUV, along with pickups and trucks for expanding its lineup. Customers can also expect to have new rugged and mid-sized SUVs too.
It looks like GMC is looking for a concept of body on frame platform which is also adapted by GMC Canyon Twins, according to Automotive News. Such kind of vehicle is already offered by General Motors Company in the form of Chevy Trailblazer, however it is not available for sale all over the world.
The new body-on-frame SUV which will be mid-sized is the new plan for GMC. Officials say that it will take some time for the concept to fully develop as it’s on its early stages right now. Duncan who is the boss at GMS had announced in the year 2014 that GMC will introduce a new SUV that will compete with Jeep Wrangler. Wrangler has been a success for far and will be hitting the million sales mark soon as well.
GMC is not the only brand that is looking for a revolutionized and rugged SUV. There are other brands that re planning to do the same as customer interest is pretty much alleviated in this genre of cars. Ford is going to launch a new SUV Bronco in a few months. It is going to be a next generation of Ranger mid-sized pickup truck. Along with that Nissan is putting efforts to get a new SUV too. They have been working on a prototype of a SUV based on the Navara NP300 which is a mid-sized pickup truck.
