While I much prefer to write about expensive sports cars and luxury vehicles, most of us don't have the sort of budget that an exotic car requires. For many of us what we need is a low-cost, high-quality car that is very fuel-efficient. Honda has announced that the 2013 Fit is now available for purchase starting at $15,325. The 2013 model has new standard in available features including a new color called Midnight Plum Pearl.

The Fit is available in a Sport version with a special body kit, special wheels, and a rear spoiler. All versions of the Fit use the same 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine producing 117 HP 6600 RPM and 106 lb-ft at 4800 RPM. The standard transmission is a five-speed manual and a five-speed automatic can be optioned. Sport versions with the automatic transmission also get paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. Automatic transmission versions of the car are rated for 33 miles per gallon on the highway.
